How to Build a Profile That Gets Employers' Attention

By: The Look Jobs Team

Employers often review dozens of profiles for each opening. The ones that stand out make it clear, within seconds, who you are and what you can do.

1. Photo and headline

Use a recent photo with your face clearly visible and a neutral background. In your headline, state your profession and what sets you apart: "Bilingual Administrative Assistant (English/Spanish)" says far more than "Looking for opportunities."

2. A short, focused summary

Three or four sentences: your experience, what you do best and the kind of role you want. Skip buzzwords like "hard-working team player."

3. Experience with results

For each job, add one concrete achievement: a process you improved, a goal you hit, a project you delivered.

4. Languages at your real level

On Look Jobs, language skills are one of the filters employers use most. List each language with your reading, writing and speaking level.

5. Keep it complete and current

  • Double-check your phone number and email.
  • List the cities where you'd work and whether you're open to remote jobs.
  • Record a short intro video. It makes your profile more personal.

Create or update your Look Jobs profile.
