Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. The workers must be able to work long hours, at least 6 hours per day in all kinds of weather conditions: hot humid weather, rain and exposed to pollen the whole day. This is a very demanding and competitive business in which specifications must be rigorously adhered to. Anticipated days and hours of work may very due to weather conditions. Workers will perform the majority of tasks standing in the upright position and can expect to stand on their feet for extended periods of time. Workers will perform seasonal agricultural duties associated with the production of onions and watermelons. Duties include preparing land for planting; preparing, forming, and maintaining planting beds and rows; planting and transplanting onions and watermelons; establishing crops; thinning and spacing plants; hand weeding and hoeing; cultivating and maintaining crops during plant development; preparing fields and crops for harvest; manually harvesting, gathering, and field handling mature onions and watermelons; and performing post-harvest field cleanup and removal of crop debris directly related to completion of the seasonal crop cycle. Requirements

Use of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited during work time or during any workday before work is completed for the day (such as during meals). Workers may not report for work under the influence of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs. Illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages may not be used or kept on any employer premises, including housing at any time. Being under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs will be cause for immediate termination. The accommodations are sufficient to accommodate the 28 workers requested. PRIME AGRICULTURE SERVICE LLC accommodations are compliant with the applicable housing health and safety standards set forth by the regulations.
