Workers will perform winter livestock duties on a beef cattle operation raising cows, bred heifers, calves, and bulls. Duties include: gathering, sorting, and moving cattle; weaning calves; working cows, calves, bred heifers, and bulls through chutes and handling facilities to vaccinate and administer treatments; daily feeding of weaned calves, bred heifers, cows, and sale bulls as separate groups, including moving and placing hay bales, processing and delivering rations, and handling mineral and supplements; observing newly weaned calves and all cattle daily for illness, injury, or stress and reporting or treating as directed; checking water sources daily and breaking and removing ice to keep tanks, waterers, and other water sources open in freezing weather; pushing and removing snow from pens, feeding areas, and travel lanes; bedding pens with straw and replacing wet or packed bedding; cleaning pens and removing manure and used bedding; preparing sale bulls for the annual bull sale, including sorting, conditioning, weighing, tagging, and handling bulls and preparing pens and sale facilities; assisting on sale day with moving, penning, presenting, and loading bulls for buyers; and maintaining and repairing fences, gates, pens, windbreaks, and livestock handling equipment. Workers may operate loaders, bale processors, or feed wagons, skid steers, and UTVs in performing these duties. Daily duties will vary with weather, temperature, and the condition and needs of the cattle, and workers may be moved between tasks and locations as conditions require. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Requirements

Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy skills are required. Operating semi-trucks will call for a CDL. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, or walking. Random drug testing and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure safe housing and work environments for all workers. Positive drug test results or refusal to comply with testing may result in termination of employment. If employer discovers a criminal conviction record or status as a registered sex offender that employer reasonably believes, consistent with current law, will impair the safety and living conditions of other workers, the employer may terminate the worker (foreign and/or domestic) with notification to OFLC and DHS in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(n).

Transportation

After worker has completed 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse worker for the cost of transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. Employee transportation will be arranged to and from their country of origin by either plane, train, bus, taxi service or own vehicle; whichever is most economical. The employer will properly reimburse employees for such travel as defined in 20 CFR 655.122(h). Continued in Addendum C.
