Workers will be performing work related to SOC 53-7064 Packer/Packager duties include: maintaining and operating grain storage facilities and equipment, as well as driving semi. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians to provide more extensive treatment. Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos. Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals. Segregate animals according to weight, age, color, and physical condition. Worker will also assist with Repair and maintain equipment used for livestock production including pens, enclosures, chutes, bunks, troughs, stall, corrals, etc. Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps and power-washers. Move equipment, poultry, or livestock from one location to another, manually or using trucks or carts. Perform duties related to livestock reproduction, such as breeding animals within appropriate timeframes, performing artificial inseminations, and helping with animal births. Spray livestock with disinfectants and insecticides, or dip or bathe animals. Assist with snow removal and debris. Break ice during times of freezing weather to ensure livestock have access to fresh water. Must be able to speak and understand English.

Requirements

Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
