Privacy policy

Last updated: 10/03/2026. This policy explains, in plain language, what data Look Jobs collects, how we use it, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights. It follows the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13,709/2018) and applies to all users, from any country.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Look Jobs (www.look-jobs.com), located at Rua Guerino Fontana, 335, Sala 01, Bom Jesus, Curitibanos/SC, CEP 89520-000, Brasil. For any matter about your data, contact us by e-mail at [email protected], on WhatsApp +55 (49) 99195-0884 or through the Contact page.

2. What data we collect

• Candidates: name, e-mail, phone, date of birth, city, photo (optional), education, work experience, languages, areas of interest, CPF (optional, Brazil) and your PDF resume, if you upload it.
• Companies: company and contact person name, e-mail, phone, address, company ID number and the details of the jobs posted.
• Independent professionals: name, e-mail, phone/WhatsApp, city and service area, professional photo, photos of your work, services and description. If you want the "Verified" badge, also your criminal background certificate as a PDF (optional).
• Customers who request a professional's contact: name and e-mail, and the review you leave (rating and comment).
• Payments: Look Jobs does not receive or store card data. Payments are made through PayPal or Asaas (Pix and boleto, Brazil). For Pix and boleto we give Asaas your name, e-mail and CPF or CNPJ, which are required to issue the charge. We only keep the code, amount and status of each payment.
• Contact form: name, e-mail, phone, country and your message.
• Browsing: cookies, browser type and IP address automatically logged by the server for security. For logged-in users, we record the date and time of visits.

3. How we use your data

• To run the site: sign-up, login, applications, job posts, professional profiles and contact between the parties.
• To send e-mails about what happens in your account: applications, stage changes, resume viewed, new applicants, payments, expirations and reviews.
• To send job alerts and Look Jobs news (you can turn them off at any time).
• To process payments and activate plans after confirmation.
• To automatically check the background certificate of professionals who request the "Verified" badge.
• To prevent fraud, spam and misuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
• To produce general statistics to improve the site.

The LGPD legal bases we rely on are: performance of the service you signed up for or requested, your consent (for example, analytics cookies and the background certificate), our legitimate interest (security and site improvement) and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Who can see your data

• Candidate resume: available to companies registered on Look Jobs, both for the jobs you apply to and through the resume database search. Companies see your name, contact details and resume for recruiting purposes.
• Independent professional profile: public (name, photo, city, services, description, work photos and reviews). Phone and WhatsApp are shown after the visitor enters their name and e-mail. The background certificate is never published: it is stored in a protected place and only the badge is shown on the profile.
• Reviews: shown on the professional's profile with only your first name and last initial. Your e-mail is not shown.
• Job posts: are public; a company may choose not to show its name (confidential job).

We do not sell your data. We only share it with the service providers needed to run the site:

• KingHost (Brazil): website hosting, database and e-mail delivery.
• PayPal and Asaas: payment processing.
• Google: reCAPTCHA (bot protection), Google Cloud Translation (when someone uses "Read in your language!", the text of the job, resume or profile is sent to Google to be translated), Google Tag Manager/analytics (only after your consent) and YouTube videos.
• Customer support chat tool, when you use the site chat.
• Authorities, when there is a court order or legal obligation.

5. International transfers

Because we operate in Brazil, the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and some providers (such as PayPal and Google) have servers outside Brazil, your data may be processed in other countries. In these cases we only use companies that follow appropriate data protection standards.

6. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work (login, chosen language, security). Analytics and marketing cookies (Google Tag Manager) are only turned on after you accept them in the cookie notice. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, but some features may stop working.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your data while your account is active or while it is needed for the purposes in this policy. When you delete your candidate account, your resume and applications are deleted. Some records (such as payments and billing) may be kept for the period required by law or to prevent fraud. The background certificate is valid as proof for 12 months.

8. Your rights

Under the LGPD you may, at any time: confirm whether we process your data, access it, correct it, request deletion or anonymization, request portability, find out who we share it with, withdraw your consent and object to processing. Users in Mexico have ARCO rights (access, rectification, cancellation and opposition), users in Canada have the rights provided by PIPEDA (the Canadian federal privacy law), and users in the U.S. have the rights provided by their state laws.

You can do many things yourself on the site: edit your profile, turn off e-mails (link at the bottom of every e-mail) and delete your account (candidate menu, "Remove account"). For anything else, write to [email protected]. We reply within 15 days. You may also contact the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

9. Security

The site uses a secure connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored encrypted and access to data is restricted. Documents such as the background certificate are kept outside the public area of the site. No internet system is 100% secure, but we always work to protect your data. Look Jobs never asks for your password by e-mail, WhatsApp or phone. Keep your password safe and do not share it.

10. Minors

Look Jobs is intended for people who have reached the minimum working age in their country. Users under 18 should use the site with the supervision of their parents or guardians.

11. Prohibited use

It is forbidden to use robots, scripts or any automated means to copy data from the site (data scraping), to try to break into or disrupt the site, to use other users' data for purposes other than recruiting or hiring services, to send spam or to post fake jobs or listings. Accounts that break these rules may be blocked.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site changes or the law requires it. When the change is important, we will let you know by e-mail or on the site. The date of the last update is always at the top of this page.
